Matthew Truwit

Assistant Professor of Evaluation, University of Louisville

Matthew Truwit is an assistant professor of evaluation at the University of Louisville. He received his PhD in quantitative research methods in education and a master’s in statistics at the University of Michigan. He seeks to build partnerships with policymakers and practitioners aimed at addressing educational inequity by collaboratively evaluating, interrogating, and improving policy around high-quality teaching and the holistic development of students. Previously, Matthew taught high school social studies and coached soccer in north Nashville for four years. Before that, he earned a Bachelor of Science in psychology from Duke University and a Master of Education in social studies secondary education from Vanderbilt University.
