Jordy Berne

Predoctoral Research Fellow

Jordy Berne is an applied microeconomist with research interests in the economics of education, labor economics, and public economics. His dissertation uses quasi-experimental methods to estimate the short- and long-run impacts of pre-K programs in Georgia and Michigan. More broadly, Jordy is interested in education policy and other social programs that promote economic opportunity for children and families. As a graduate student, Jordy has been an Institute of Education Sciences predoctoral fellow and is currently an NAEd/Spencer dissertation fellow. Prior to graduate school, Jordy worked for three years at the U.S. Congressional Budget Office. He’s an avid UGA football fan and his alma maters have collectively won the past three national championships.
