Economist, Amazon

Xiaoyang Ye is an economist at Amazon.  He works on applying behavioral economics and data science to optimize human capital decisions from school to the workplace.  His current academic research focuses on leveraging behavioral interventions, data and algorithms, and economic theories to improve and equalize educational access, choice, and success in the U.S. and China, as well as other countries. He also aims to expand learning opportunities for disadvantaged students by serving as a volunteer teacher in causal inference, behavioral economics, and data science.

Ye earned his Ph.D. in Higher Education (economics and K-20 education policy concentrations) from the University of Michigan in 2019 and was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Princeton School of Public and International Affairs in 2019-20.  He was also a Postdoctoral Researcher in Education Policy in the Annenberg Institute at Brown University from 2020-22.
